Immigation Booths at Port of Dover for EU coach passengers
The Port of Dover has spent £40 million on its new facilities, which has required them to reclaim wetlands and – for coach passengers – move the French border.
Its coach facility has been installed with 12 EES kiosks along with French border control (Police Aux Frontieres) booths designed by Gate Technologies and hopes to be able to process up to 20 coaches an hour.
The new EES terminal is in the Western Docks, away from the main ferry terminal. Coaches are held in lanes, passengers enter the building to complete biometric checks at kiosks or with officers.
The new system operational as of October 2025, is designed to accommodate the stringent biometric data collection required for non-EU citizens entering the Schengen area.
