Our latest project is in Nairobi, Kenya. JKIA T2 is a new facility housed in a modular structure which was selected for the rapidity of construction.
The building provides additional capacity whilst existing terminals are being refurbished. GTL provided a turnkey service for the design, supply and installation of all technological equipment including BHS (departures and arrivals), FIDS, screening machines, lounge seating and office furniture. Although the building is semi-permanent, the equipment installed is first quality and fully compliant with international standards.
The building has 26 check-in counters, each with 40″ FIDS screens to service international and domestic flights.
A fully automated BHS system integrated with 2 EDS screening machines provides a throughput of 1,200 bags per hour. Inbound baggage is also security screened. There are additionally 6 departure gates furnished with 400 beam seats. In arrivals 3 baggage reclaim carousels serve for arriving passengers on both international and domestic flights.
Counters at check-in and elsewhere are from the GTL standard range which feature stainless steel side panels, glass fronts, natural granite tops and with interiors customised to suit the individual project in hand.
